BIO Born and raised in London, England, I have an MA from Cambridge University. My particular field of interest was how recipients' perceptions influence the effectiveness of development programs. I conducted research in this area in St Lucia and for UNICEF in India. After six years of independent travel and work in Asia, my interest in 'development' led me to the Personal Development Program at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto (GIT). As a result of the changes in my personal well-being that resulted from this experience, I decided to continue training to become an individual and group therapist. So, nowadays my interests are still focussed on how perception affects growth but more in terms of personal growth than the growth of nations. I have another (part time) incarnation as a screenwriter of independent films. A low-budget feature film of one of my scripts about racial prejudice and gun violence was shot in Toronto in late 2005 and is in post production. I am married with two cats.
