After attaining his Bachelor of Science degree at Cornell University, Dr. Stephen Shainbart received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Fordham University. Following the completion of his doctorate, Dr. Shainbart worked as a psychologist at various hospitals and clinics. He then completed a four year training program in Psychoanalysis at the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology. Dr. Shainbart is both a Supervisor of Psychotherapy at the William Alanson White Institute as well as a faculty member at the Center for Applied Psychoanalysis at the White Institute. Additionally, Dr. Shainbart is a member of the PPSC (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center) Continuing Education faculty. Dr. Shainbart is also affiliated with Pace University as an Adjunct Clinical Supervisor at the Center for Psychological Services. Dr. Shainbart is in private practice in Manhattan and specializes in adult, adolescent, and couples treatment.
